In terms of a solid state amplifier, you cannot ask for much more than the technology that is thrown into Randall Amplifiers. Their development into using circuit boards goes back a long away and continually progresses with each new amp they release. This RG3003 amp head is an utter powerhouse. In terms of amplifier gain, it is a work of art. It is made exceptionally well for distorted guitar tones and knows how to keep its power in check; the intelligent noise gate does well to maintain the grit and gnarl of the distortion, while also minimizing ambient hum. With 3 channels, a switch for bass boost, and a switch for mid scoop, there are plenty of rock/metal options available for users to bounce between with this rig.
